    Publisher: Coffs for Kids
  • Key Differentiator
Firstly, I took my son to the Coffs library one day when they had borrowed heaps of Lego from Lego Australia to build a story bridge for Children’s Book Week. What a fantastic opportunity (and a kid’s dream come true!) to sit amongst thousands of pieces of Lego with other kids building stuff. Unfortunately none of my friends knew about this event and I found myself wondering why…? Secondly, I went to Homebase one Sunday looking for a rug for my house and suddenly I almost walked smack-bang into a shiny brand new playground. It is built just outside the cafe (I am a VERY big fan of playgrounds right next to cafes) and a really fantastic little area. But I didn’t know about it before bumping into it. I found myself asking why didn’t I know about it? And thirdly, a little friend of mine and a real inspiration, Marina gave me the idea and endless encouragement to make this happen. Marina runs www.noosakids.com > a similar site to this one. So Coffs for Kids was born, I aim for it to be a one-stop place to come to find things to do, services or products for your kids available in and around Coffs Harbour. I will be writing a blog almost-daily to talk about things I am up to with my kids, current things going on, or even businesses that catch my eye. In conclusion, just a little history: my parents moved to Coffs Harbour when I was 1 year old sometime in the 70s (we don’t really need specifics here do we?!). I grew up in Coffs, moving away to Uni and then went exploring the worlda bit. I returned around 5 years ago because I could not imagine raising my kids anywhere else. There are tonnes of great things to do in Coffs for kids, but I fondly miss two things from my childhood: the roller-skating rink that used to be opposite Park Beach Plaza (in the building next to McDonalds) and the Drive-In cinemas that used to be out near the Good Guys. Bring them back I say!
