The Dalhousie Gazette is the student-run newspaper of Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS and the oldest campus newspaper in North America.

The Gazette covers events both on the Dalhousie campus and around Halifax. In the 2013-14 publishing year, we covered such varied stories as the arrival of a new university president, the controversy over student advocacy, racist graffiti, transgender issues, Hal-Con and AUS championships. We also include poetry, comics and fiction in our pages both online and in print.

Our staff are dedicated to mentoring and training aspiring writers and journalists while giving people a space to describe and reflect on their own campus. We publish strong writing, passionate writing and important writing within the limits of journalistic integrity and ethics.

The Dalhousie Gazette is distributed to over 80 locations around Halifax every Friday morning. We hold weekly contributors meetings in our office, located in room 312 of the Student Union Building on Studley campus, every Monday night at 5:30 p.m.
