A few years ago, I was able to sit down at the LifeLock Headquarters, in Tempe, AZ and be completely schooled in things you wouldn’t even believe about fraud protection. Most people think, “That will never happen to me.” but believe me, you are no exception. Many years ago, I went in for what was a routine oil change. It was one of those in and out places. A few days later, I received a phone call about someone attempting to use my debit card to purchase an escort. Yes, I instantly laughed as well, until I found out the guy wasn’t kidding. It seemed that the man who changed my oil, failed to return my debit card. Me, distracted by, most likely, my son, I never noticed it was missing. After almost 2 months, all of my funds were returned by the bank. I am sorry to say that out local law enforcement did nothing. We filed all of the paper work and they did nothing. It’s pretty sad. If you have already taken your summer trip, or have yet to, protecting yourself is important.
