Hi, welcome to Ex Libris and thanks for stopping by! I love reading the personal background infos on other blogs, so if you are like me and are curious about the raison d'etre of the blog and the person behind the blog, this is the place :-) Who am I? Hello, I'm Stella, 29 years old and a bookaholic. I have loved reading ever since I learned how to, I simply love how a wonderful story can make you escape to faraway lands and old forgotten times and relive and experience great adventures and emotions! Reading is one of the greatest way of dreaming. But besides my passion for books, there's quite a few other things I love to do: my other greatest passion is travelling! I love to explore different parts of the world and get a glimpse at the local natural and civilized beauties as well as meet the local people and their customs and traditions! I love experiencing the way people there live and try their cuisine. I love cooking and baking (especially desserts!), and of course watching movies and series with my boyfriend. I love going out with my friends and have passionate discussions around a round of cocktails! :-) What kind of books do I read? My reading range is quite wide and eclectic: I love reading anything from a good old classic to not just simply contemporary fiction and crime/thriller novels, but since I discovered the urban fantasy realm and the romance genre, I can't get enough of those either! My favourite genres are urban fantasy romance (historical - contemporary -paranormal) chick lit crime and thriller erotica. I'm also a bit of a multilinguist as I speak 6 languages: English, French, Hungarian, Italian, Latin, I'm learning German and also know a bit of Spanish. Why Ex Libris? Ex Libris literally means "from the books" in Latin, this expression is used as in "Quoted from", but I like to give it another meaning: "from the books" as in when I'm reading, all characters and settings step out from the books and I'm included in their world. So when I started the blog back in 2010 it seemed like the perfect name for it :-) As of October 2013 I have a dear blogger friend join me at Ex Libris: Anna Hello everyone, my name is Anna and I'm a renegade blogger who took refuge in this splendid home! I'm 28 years old, recently and very happily married and a bookaddict - well, who among us isn't? I love reading since I can remember myself and that goes way back...! Since I was a kid I would read whatever I could get my hands on, to my mother's dismay and along with my father's blessings :P One can safely say that he was the one who taught me the importance of a good book and who kept supplying me with new books. After all, he is a bookaddict himself :) Anyway, my love for books and good stories, isn't the only thing I have in common with Stella. I also love travelling and baking all kinds of chocolate goods along with trying new dessert recipes whenever I feel bored. Travelling, much like a good story, opens to me a whole new world of wonderful things. It's not just the fact that you see new and different places, travelling gives you the opportunity to meet different people and the way they live. That's the most magical thing for me. As for the kind of books I read, depending my mood, I read pretty much everything, with a few exceptions of course. But as soon as a blurb catches my interest I'm game. A strong romantic element is almost always a common element in the stories I enjoy.
