Tank Town Media — which founded www.GoldenStateNewspapers.com — owns and runs the Tracy Press, Mountain House Press, Patterson Irrigator, Scotts Valley Press-Banner and San Lorenzo Valley Press-Banner. The Tracy Press began publishing news for the whole community on April 2, 1898. The Matthews family bought the newspaper in 1943 and operated it until its sale in 2012. The Press is still family-owned and now co-published by Will Fleet and Ralph Alldredge, who purchased the newspaper from the Matthews family and took over publication on Nov. 12, 2012. The Tracy Press has been dedicated to covering the city of Tracy for more than 100 years and continues that tradition of community service. The Patterson Irrigator, Patterson’s hometown paper since 1911, was also purchased by Tank Town Media 2012 and continues to be published every Thursday. The Press-Banner has been dedicated to covering the San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley for more than 50 years. It was first published Dec. 2, 1960 as the Valley Press, and purchased by the Matthews family in 2005, and operated by the Matthews family until its sale in 2012. Today, it remains for thousands of people the prime source of news and information about Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley.
