    Your student-run media outlet since 1976 The award-winning Patriot Talon serves to inform, entertain, educate and raise awareness among students, faculty, staff and administrators at The University of Texas at Tyler. Talon staff members are responsible journalists who maintain high ethical standards and report with fairness, accuracy and balance. The Patriot Talon is a public forum and encourages and provides an avenue for the free flow of student expression and opinions. Our media outlet serves as a learning tool to help students gain experience in all aspects of the media. As a student-run media outlet the opinions expressed herein are not necessarily those of the administration, faculty, staff, alumni or student body of the University. Location: The Patriot Talon office is 1100 MB2 . These are the modular buildings located across from the Fine Arts Building near the west entrance off Patriot drive. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All contributions in good taste will be edited for grammar, spelling, length (300 words maximum), libel, profanity and personal attacks. All letters must contain the author’s name, address, telephone number, academic classification and hometown. Advertising: We welcome all advertisers who wish to reach our unique audience of nearly 7,000 students, 700 faculty, staff and administrators. We offer advertising opportunities in our bi-weekly print edition and our 24/7 website. Download our current advertising rate sheet here. Join the Talon staff: We always are recruiting talented and dedicated students to join our staff. We seek writers, photographers, editors, designers, multimedia specialists, advertising representatives, public relations specialists and others who can contribute to the Patriot Talon. Any students, regardless of major or class standing, may apply by contacting the editor in chief editor@patriottalon.com and submitting an application.
