    Published each Wednesday, the Perry County Tribune has a notable reputation for providing readers with honest and fair reporting. The Tribune, located at 399 Lincoln Park Dr. in New Lexington, the county seat of Perry County, is a multimedia news organization with a circulation of 3,800. Like many newspapers, The Perry County Tribune, since being established in 1871, has witnessed several changes in ownership - but, one thing that has always remained is the dedication of reporting fair and honest local news. The Perry County Tribune originally started in an office over Thomas Drake’s store on East Main Street in Somerset, and was then known as the Somerset Tribune. In 1873 the paper was moved to the county seat, renamed the New Lexington Tribune, and then later became the Perry County Tribune. When it comes to advertising, the Tribune is second to none in the area. The Tribune’s advertising staff is available to assist advertisers in their planning, designing and choosing the most effective way to reach potential customers. Whether it be print ads or online, the Tribune delivers with up-to-date online stories and breaking news from around the area, and can be found at perrydaily.com The combination of paid circulation, home delivery, as well as responsive readership adds up to an advertising medium that is innovative, cost-effective,and generates sales for its advertisers. The Perry County Tribune’s circulation is 3,800; with the Tribune Shopping News, being distributed each Sunday (through DCS) to 10,500 homes in Perry and surrounding counties. The electronic edition of the Perry County Tribune, www.perrydaily.com, was launched September 2008. The Tribune was purchased by Adams Publishing Group in Minneapolis, MN in March 2014, along with six other southeastern Ohio newspapers - The Athens Messenger, Circleville Herald, Jackson County Times-Journal, The News Watchman (Waverly), Vinton County Courier and Logan Daily News. The Tribune’s news coverage includes all of Perry County, and our sports staff covers all four area high schools; New Lexington, Sheridan, Crooksville in the Muskingum Valley League (MVL), as well as various recreational sports and features. Miller High School is part of the Tri-Valley League which includes several high schools in the districts area. When it comes to community involvement several staff members serve on committees and boards within the county which include: the Perry County Chamber of Commerce, Ohio Newspaper Association (ONA), Home and Garden Show, Mother/Daughter Expo, Baseball Hall of Fame, Breakfast with Santa, Perry County Cancer Alliance, Fairview Assisted Living (Perry County Home), Perry County Gun Bash and Perry County Fair. The Perry County Tribune is available through the U.S. Postal Service as well as newsstands, local retail businesses and at the office, which is located at 399 Lincoln Park Dr. in New Lexington, Ohio. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Deb Hutmire joined the Perry County Tribune staff in February, 1993. In 1997, former Tribune owner Gary Hirt, promoted her to Publisher/Managing Editor. Prior to joining the Tribune staff, Hutmire was employed for 17 years at the Zanesville Times Recorder, and served as editor of the Perry County Recorder, a weekly newspaper. Over the past 35 years, Hutmire has been active in several community projects, such as establishing the Christmas Walk in New Lexington, and Downtown Merchants Association; Perry County Chamber of Commerce, New Lexington Tree Commission, Fairview Assisted Living Christmas Club Board and the Perry County Cancer Alliance. Hutmire's hobbies include; riding the Ohio bike trails with family and friends, boating on Burr Oak, and gardening. The couple have been married for 25 years and have four children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys learning about the local history and participating in community events. Rusty resides in Somerset with his wife, Jody and their nine children...”Eight isn’t enough but nine is fine,” stated Rusty.
