    The Creightonian, published each Thursday during the school year, has been an integral part of Creighton since 1924. Student reporters, editors, photographers and designers produce the award-winning newspaper where news, features, sports, entertainment, opinion and photos are packaged in eye-catching design. The new Creightonian Online offers similar up-to-the-minute campus news, features, opinion and sports, but with added interactive and multimedia features, such as video, podcasts and blogs. Creighton students write, edit and produce both publications with the advice of professional advisers. Students also manage the Creightonian advertising. The learning opportunity through the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication allows the student media to serve an audience that primarily reflects the Catholic and Jesuit heritage of Creighton and the student media contribute to the free exchange of ideas that strengthens as academic institution. Creighton University serves as the publisher of the student media. Student editors and managers have the ultimate responsibility for the content of the publications. To be effective, the editors and managers must be independent from those seeking to influence or control the news content.
