    Thanks for visiting The Hunter Collector my name is Zia… I might as well confess immediately: I am a fashion addict; I have been from a very young age. I am also an (LA based) actor, mother, freelance bookkeeper and amateur landscape artist. I chose the name Hunter Collector to convey my personal philosophy toward shopping: Hunt for the great investment pieces (they don’t always have to be “classic” but something that will last a lifetime) and keep to create your own Collection. Fashion is so cyclical you never know when a trend will return. I regularly find myself rummaging through my “fashion archives” (which can be found in the form of multiple plastic bins neatly stacked in my garage) The archive consists of items that have stood the test of time ~ because they were of great quality to begin with and because I have cared for them faithfully. I have often been asked why I didn’t pursue a career in fashion, as a stylist or a designer. I guess the best answer is that knowing what works for me is very different from knowing what will work for other people. I know what I like and what looks good on me, but finding that for someone has never been something I felt capable of. I was a boutique owner for a short while, and even doing the buying for entire demographic was daunting. My hope is that this blog will allow me to showcase my personal style – while at the same time inspiring others with what I feel good in. On a side note the blog name also pays homage to my beautiful six year old son Hunter, who like his mother is a collector of beautiful things. Unlike his mother, beauty for him lies in the realm of insects, lizards, frogs and rocks. Please drop me a line, I appreciate feedback or just knowing you are out there!
