Since 2004 we’ve been telling the world what’s happening in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Norway, Denmark and Austria. Over the years, we’ve produced more than a hundred thousand stories for a hundred million readers. We’ve learned a lot about what works (and what doesn’t) when you want to take a local message global. The Local offers the perfect audience and context for targeted international advertising. To find out if we are a suitable platform for your campaign - and to discuss the best-performing formats - please contact us. Services We work closely with our clients on their international communication strategies, specifically helping with creating and distributing quality content - through our own channels, social media and beyond. We have unique editorial experience of communicating what happens in our various countries to the rest of the world. Here are some of the ways in which we apply that experience to our clients' goals: Sponsored content in the format that best communicates the client's message Live blogs from major events, conferences, exhibitions, speeches Translation (sites, promotions, press releases, articles) Custom news sites for particular content or audiences Display advertising in a range of formats for our web and mobile platforms For a no-strings-attached chat about how we might be able to help you, please get in touch. Nine ways The Local has helped clients with their international communication 1. When UK retailer Marks and Spencer wanted to tell expat consumers about its Europe-wide delivery service, we created country-specific content and provided the channel to this hard-to-reach audience. 2. How to connect the Swedish Institute's Network of Future Global Leaders to life in Sweden? With a custom news site, complete with exclusive content produced for, and by, this unique audience. 3. Our sites are depended upon by expats in nine countries. We connected the City of Stockholm with people all around the world through a series of humorous articles about how the city makes it easier for foreign professionals to move there. 3. Regus business lounges are perfect for business travellers, so The Local's audience was an obvious target group. We produced content that made an impact with our readers and generated a stream of customer leads. 4. West Sweden's thrilling lobster safari should be on everyone's bucket list. But readers who couldn't make it this year were able to experience it live, thanks to The Local's live blog - produced on a fishing boat in the archipelago. 5. Dozens of universities and international schools have used The Local to reach expats around Europe. At the junior end of the scale, we wrote about how Phorms insists on bilingualism in its six German schools. And for the postgrads, we helped Kellogg-WHU to explain the benefits of its Executive MBA program. 6. Our live blog from STING Day, one of Stockholm’s hottest start-up gatherings, captured the buzz of the day for those who weren't there - and kept the discussion going long after the event itself... 7. ...but Stockholm doesn't have a monopoly on Swedish start-ups. We wrote about the ten Skåne start-ups to watch in 2015 on behalf of Region Skåne, leading to exposure far and wide. 8. Most people don't need more than a couple of reasons for a sunny break. But for a Europe-wide content campaign for Gran Canaria Tourism, we offered readers ten reasons to holiday in Gran Canaria. 9. Stockholm Academic Forum wanted the city's new official university guide to tell the stories behind the 17 universities in the region. So with our journalistic approach to copywriting, we produced the content for the site.
