How Did The Sisters Café Began? Growing up in a house full of sisters (and one great brother) was a wonderful childhood. Sure, we had our share of drama, but the bonds between us grew deep and strong. When our lovely sister-in-law joined the family, we were thrilled to gain another sister! Today the five of us enjoy a cherished sisterhood of love, support, and friendship. Each of us feels strongly about creating a home for our families that is a place of joy and safety. A home in which meal times are about family and nourishing the soul, as well as the body. With that in mind, our big sister Melanie came up with the idea of starting a recipe blog together and we all enthusiastically jumped in! She had already established a tradition of creating a recipe binder of her own favorite recipes to give to each of us as we got married. As the oldest, she had plenty of wonderful advice and experience in the kitchen and so those binders were well appreciated! During that time, we would share with each other any new favorite recipe that we found worthy to add to our binders. As you can imagine, the idea of creating a recipe blog together was perfect and so The Sisters Café was born! We hope that while you are here you will be inspired! After all, cooking and baking is a labor of love – whether it is the love of preparing delicious food or the love of caring for your family… and preferably both!
