    SPORTS MARKETING ASSOCIATION SMA E-board with Speaker Katie Garcia SMA Eboard with Speaker Katie Garcia The Sports Marketing Association (S.M.A.) works directly with Arizona Athletics and ASUA to market athletics' events to the U of A student body and the Tucson community. The club helps to promote each of Arizona's 20 NCAA Division-I sports, with particular emphasis on football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, gymnastics, women's soccer, softball and baseball. S.M.A. members assist in volunteering during the game-day events as well as executing in-game promotions. SMA members helping out at the Diamondbacks Fan Fest SMA members helping out at the Diamondbacks Fan Fest In addition, the club is involved in numerous social events such as intramurals, networking trips to sports organizations, and experience volunteering across several sports. S.M.A.'s partnership with professional teams and organizations around the Phoenix area, allows club members to volunteer for yearly events like the Diamondbacks Fan Fest and the Accenture Golf Tournament. S.M.A. has bi-weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 7:30 in the Lohse Room in McKale Center. We have speakers every meeting from all areas of the sports industry including marketing, broadcasting, sales, sponsorship, event management and game operations. S.M.A. also offers many internship opportunities to its members through Arizona Athletics and local professional teams. S.M.A. also holds an annual Sports Career Symposium that brings in dozens of sports executives from around the country to share their knowledge of the industry and to network with our members. This club is you proverbial "foot in the door" to the sports world and is perfect for students with a strong passion for sports who want hands on experience in the sports industry.
