    About Me My name is Alyssa and I am a working mom to my son Aaron, who is 2 years old. I have been married to my wonderful husband Brian for 7 years. We also have a dog named Homer (My husband is a huge Simpons fan). My husband and I both share in the cooking in our house, but I am usually the one that comes up with the menus for our meals. I created this blog to store all my recipes and to share recipes that I love. I love food and love to make new creations in the kitchen. I use a lot of easy recipes, using store bought ingredients, so that I can spend my time with family and not spend all of my time in the kitchen. I make nice, easy home cooked meals and try to make the meals at least a little bit healthy. I also have a major sweet tooth (I love anything with chocolate and peanut butter). I am lactose intolerant so I cannot have milk (luckily I am able to eat cheese . . . I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t eat pizza). Due to this, I use soy milk in my cooking, but milk can be substituted for soy milk in my recipes. I also do not eat beef, so I use ground turkey instead, for which ground beef can be substituted. The name for my blog came from my grandmother. She uses the phrase “What’s Cooking” instead of saying “What’s Up” or “How are You?” She always asks”What’s Cooking, Love?” My grandmother is very big on food and when I would visit her as a kid (and when I still do) she would always ask if I was hungry and was constantly offering to make me and my siblings food (I usually took her up on her offer because I love to eat). Since this blog is about my love of food, I thought my grandmother’s phrase would be a perfect name. This blog is about cooking easy, good food, using shortcuts and timesavers.
