Welcome to elevatormusik.com. Created on an early summer evening in 2010, this blog began as a place for me to write about all the little things in my life that make me happy. I post about the clothes I wear, the makeup I use, the places I go, the things I do, the food I cook, and all other kinds of stuff that I love. It has continued to evolve over the last few years, and now includes several regular features (like my Sunday Summaries, Monthly Mixtapes, Cocktail Hours, Edinburgh City Guides & Today's Makeup) as well as a whole bunch of other beauty, fashion and lifestyle related posts. I'm not particularly stylish and I certainly ain't no beauty guru, but I do a mean cat-eye and have a collection of black dresses like no other. I'm Gillian and I have long hair, green eyes and a weakness for sad songs and rainy afternoons. I'm twenty-three and have just finished my MSc in Scottish History. I don't really know what I want to do with my life, but I guess I'll find out somewhere along the way, eh? I live in Edinburgh and it's just the best. I always fall asleep with a smile on my face knowing that I'll be waking up the next morning (preferably afternoon) in my favourite city. I watch far too many American TV shows, and documentaries about assorted weird things, but I'm more than happy to ditch the TV for an evening sipping cocktails and dancing 'til the lights come up. I'm a true night owl; I always have been and I always will be. You can usually find me tapping away on my laptop keyboard until the night turns into morning again, watching the world through my open window.
