Pontiac Intelligence was started by a group of traders and engineers at Programmatic Mechanics after a conversation about how challenging it was to optimize small budgeted campaigns, especially in cases where there were many of them for a single effort. In some cases, although the overall media spend was material, operational efficiency was lost because that larger spend was spread over several hundred individual campaigns. It was decided that this problem could be solved with a particularly strong and smart Artificial Intelligence approach. Pontiac, the algorithm, was born.
The initial goal was to deploy this internally and measure success against the average performance of other major DSP brands where the human traders did the optimization in conjunction with said DSPs algorithms. Not only did we achieve our performance goals, we also did it with far less human optimization intervention with the help of the AI driven engine.
With these highly effective outcomes it was decided to assess the various use-cases where Pontiac could be deployed to resolve truly challenging industry situations. Ones where managing certain types of campaigns were problems for both the advertisers, as well as the various media procurement players. Our directed focus for Pontiac is SMB for digital display advertising, where campaign budget values tend to be modest and often tightly geo-targeted. This includes Franchise organizations where budget are often own at the local level, Insurance Agents, Real Estate Agents, Car Dealerships, Fitness Locals, QSR, etc.
Now, Pontiac Intelligence LLC offers the power of Pontiac AI in a demand side platform UI to marketers and agencies. Options are Self-Service or Enterprise Managed Service. The foundation of which is the knowledge base stemming from tens of thousands of human performance optimizations executed by the Trading teams at Programmatic Mechanics.
